Welcome

Guildford is rich in history, it has a fine collection of buildings covering Saxon, Medieval, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian and 20th Century architecture, making it an ideal place for a visit. Make the most of your visit with a guided walk around Guildford.

The Town Guides walking season begins on Sunday 1st May and ends on Wednesday 28th September

The Voluntary Town Guides provide walking tours that show and explain the town to thousands of people each year.

The most popular walking tour is the Historical Tour of the town. This includes a brief history from the earliest times with visits to the Abbot's Hospital, St Mary's Church, the Undercroft and the Castle grounds. In addition to the Historic Walking Tour, the Guides offer other walking tours on Medieval Guildford, Hidden Guildford, The River Wey and Lewis Carroll.

If you have any enquiries or wish to book a walk for a group we charge £3 per head, please contact us.  Much of the money we raise we then give to charity, because we are all volunteers.  All the walking tours available to groups can be found here.

There is no charge for schools.  Please contact us through the Tourist Information Centre in Guildford
