The Guildhall, with its magnificent clock, is not just the most decorative building in our historic High Street, it has been the centre of civic life for centuries. On this tour, we will look at its origins as the Merchants’ Hall, its use as a court of law, and as a place to welcome Royal visitors. We will also look at some of the civic treasures given to Guildford by prominent citizens over the centuries, including the 17th century clock itself.
